COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – October 30, 2018 – Compassion International today was honored as one of America’s Favorite Charities by The Chronicle of Philanthropy, a magazine that monitors and reports on trends in the non-profit world.
In the Chronicle’s America’s Favorite Charities report, Colorado Springs-based Compassion International is number eight on the list of 100 top charities in the U.S. As part of the analysis, the Chronicle examined growth in cash, product donations, and other gifts raised from private sources, looking at 10 years of fundraising records. It also offers a more detailed financial picture of the organizations that are the best at fundraising.
“Compassion has been extremely blessed,” said Rick Davis, Compassion’s vice president of U.S. operations. “Our mission of releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name is incredibly compelling. And the faithfulness and growth of our supporter base is evidence that Compassion is truly accomplishing this mission.”
In fiscal year 2018, which ended on June 30, Compassion reported an annual revenue of $890,571,000 (rounded), an increase of nearly nine percent over last fiscal year.
