The original Gossamer Gear "The One" tent weighs 17 ounces This is a special raffle for a mint-condition Gossamer Gear "The One," a 17 ounce tent that Gossamer Gear will be reintroducing this spring. The original version of this tent being raffled here, is made using an ultralight fabric called Spinnaker Cloth, which was a precursor to cuben fiber. It's a trekking pole tent that requires two poles to set up. It has a fully integrated bathtub floor, mesh bug netting, excellent side ventilation, vents, and an awning. What is the value of The One? This classic 17 ounce version of The One is comparable in weight to several tents sold by Zpacks.com, which cost $500 and up. Gossamer Gear couldn't get a reliable supply of Spinnaker and had to stop manufacturing The One a few years ago. This is one of the few original models available today. It's been sitting in my gear room for past few years on loan from Gossamer Gear, who's graciously given me permission to give it away to my readers.
