Your gift equipped our church partners to meet the physical, social, economic AND spiritual needs of children like Jheison in Peru. When 14-year-old Jheison’s father was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2018, Jheison was devastated. As his father underwent treatment, Jheison’s Compassion center staff provided spiritual and emotional support to the family. After Jheison’s father lost his battle with cancer, the staff saw a way to help meet the grieving son and mother’s physical and economic needs. Compassion provided seed money for Jheison and his mom to start a small business, which has grown from a humble veggie stand into a successful convenience store.
